What is AJAM Camp?
AJAM Camp is a unique 5-day summer camp experience that immerses youth in the rich musical and cultural heritage of the Blue Ridge Mountains. From beginners to seasoned musicians, everyone is welcome!
Save the Date: July 14th - 18th, 2025
Monday to Thursday 10am - 3pm at the AJAM house and the Alleghany Fairgrounds on the 18th. Friday's schedule is different - 1pm - 6pm, with a 5pm opening performance at the Fiddler's Convention! It will be a longer day!

What Is It Like?
Imagine spending five days surrounded by the scenic beauty of the Appalachian Mountains, where each day is a new adventure in music, dance, and storytelling. Whether you're a young learner in grade 3 or an adult looking to revisit your roots, AJAM Camp has something for everyone.
Who Can Join?
The camp is open to youth grades (rising) 3 through 12 and adults. No prior musical experience is required!

Our experienced instructors, who are passionate about Appalachian arts, will guide you through a transformative journey of learning and discovery.
Camp Activities
Your child will dive into a world of musical exploration with our camp activities, where every note and rhythm is a thread in the vibrant fabric of Appalachian culture. They will participate in interactive sessions with instruments like the guitar, banjo, fiddle, and mandolin and others, all under the expert tutelage of our seasoned instructors. Your child will experience the joy of Appalachian singing and the energy of traditional dances. Our activities are crafted to foster a sense of community, honor our cultural legacy, and spark a lasting enthusiasm for the performing arts.
